Welcome to the July Prosper Yarn Sock Club! This month we are featuring a beautiful, bouncy 2ply construction 100% New Zealand Merino sock yarn. This yarn has a high twist to add durability without nylon. It is a non superwash base, so hand wash with care and your socks will thank you.
The colourway was inspired by the Matariki star cluster and the beginning of the Māori New Year. This is traditionally a time to pause and reflect, to remember those who have passed, celebrate the present, and look towards the future.
We used a resist dying technique to achieve the flecks of white starlight in our predawn blue yarn. This technique is something that takes a bit of slowing down and being mindful, very fitting for this special time of year.
Last month we suggested a cuff down sock pattern, a preference of many sock knitters and a great place to get started. But this month, why not try Tanis Lavalle’s Trusty Toe Up socks? It’s a free pattern in simple stockinette to let the stars shine. You can chose from two different heel constructions to get the best fit.
