The last few days of March are spent relishing the still long evenings and balmy weather. And what better way to spend them than with a small mindful project. For March’s Sock Club we went back to a colourway that we no longer dye, a beautiful minty blue aptly named Defying Gravity. We instantly fell back in love with this ethereal colourway, and so will be bringing it back as a regular on all our bases. Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

To match this delicate colourway and our longing for summer to linger, we found the perfect pattern. The Day’s Eye Socks by Jess Thompson. These sweet socks are relatively simple, their beauty lies in the finishing details. You knit a cuff down fleegle heel with a wedge toe, both new techniques to our club. Throughout the sock, eyelets are made.. this is where the magic happens. Each little eyelet gets embroidered so you end up with a sock covered in delicate daisies! Jess has included thoughtful details throughout the pattern, including the tip to make the daisies as you go, genius! And to finish the sock, Jess suggests some ‘predarning’ with diagrams to accompany. So excited to see how these socks wear!

And this month’s sock base? A wonderful mix of bouncy North Island Corriedale, lustrous Mohair and airy Llama. The perfect non superwash blend to bring it all together.

Happy knitting x
