Where does the time go? February is upon us, and in true Ponsonby fashion, we’re bringing out the rainbow!

Auckland celebrates our Pride Festival during February. A time to celebrate the vibrant colours that make us who we are, in all the beautiful, spectacular, dizzying fibres that make up the human cloth. With February’s sock, we’re flying our rainbow alongside the LGBTQ+ community, and with all those who are bound with it.

We’ve gone a bit rustic with this one, using a non-superwash Merino Lincoln blend. The Sock Club veterans may recognise this base from October, but as a hand dyed rainbow, it takes on a whole new life. For my pair, I’ve dipped back into my stash yarn for a contrast colour choosing Patience, though it would look equally beautiful with a bolder stash dive or no contrast. You do you!

We’re also returning to one of our favourite designers for this month’s pattern recommendation. Steven West’sDancing Droplet Socks’ use a relatively simple stitch pattern to create a very impressive looking piece of knitting. We particularly love the garter stitch heel flap he has used to give the sock a brilliant fit.

Happy pride everyone, and happy knitting x
