Santa Sock Knit-a-Long Event
Join us for a happy holiday knit-a-long at the Ponsonby Prosper Yarn studio/shop! This knit-a-long event includes the yarn and the pattern to knit our famous chunky Santa Sock just in time for the holidays.
SATURDAY 7 DECEMBER 10:00AM - 3:00PM
To get the most of your day, please be familiar with casting on, the knit and purl stitches, basic decreases, and binding off as this is not really a workshop, but a social event. But if you know us, we are a helpful, friendly bunch so just give it a go!
This listing reserves your space + 1 kit for our in store knit-a-long, and a cold beverage + sweet treats!! Chose STUDIO PICK UP as your delivery method when you check out.
We will have needles available for you to use on the day, which you can purchase with your kit if you already know you will want to keep them, or purchase on the day if you'd like to take them home to knit more stockings! You can also bring your own 12mm circular needles from home : )
The kit includes the printed pattern, all the Bossy New Zealand Lambswool yarn you'll need to make your stocking, stitch markers, and tapestry needle for weaving in ends. As we mentioned, needles are optional to add now or later.
The pattern is knit cuff to toe in the round on 12mm circular needles. It's a great way to learn about Garter and Stockinette stitches, short rows, and decreases. This is an adventurous beginner friendly pattern, and takes about 4 hours on average to complete.
The yarn used is Bossy, a super bulky New Zealand lambswool single spun yarn.
We try our best to make our photos as accurate as possible but every screen displays colour slightly differently, so we cannot guarantee complete accuracy. Hand-dyed yarns vary from one batch to the next so there will always be some variation between the photo and each individual skein.
Part of the hand dyed allure is each skein's individuality. This gives final objects depth and nuance. With this in mind we recommend alternating skeins (every other row in flat knitting and every row in circular knitting) on larger projects creating a more cohesive blend.
