Learn to Crochet
Join us for this fun, work at your own pace, in person class taught in our Auckland dye studio. Choose from a 100 gram skein of hand dyed Merino or Cotton DK morning of your class and watch as we wind it into a yarn cake for you! Your yarn and hook are included along with 3 hours of tuition and a light tea.
While you can learn a lot from online courses, there's just no substitution for hands on guidance in the moment... with this in mind we will cover:
your tools
holding your yarn
making a chain
single crochet
half double crochet
double crochet
sewing in your yarn tail
We may even have some chats about patterns and terminology, working with colour, and getting to know yarns fibres.
We try our best to make our photos as accurate as possible but every screen displays colour slightly differently, so we cannot guarantee complete accuracy. Hand-dyed yarns vary from one batch to the next so there will always be some variation between the photo and each individual skein.
Part of the hand dyed allure is each skein's individuality. This gives final objects depth and nuance. With this in mind we recommend alternating skeins (every other row in flat knitting and every row in circular knitting) on larger projects creating a more cohesive blend.
