This blog entry directs you to ideas as inspiration for using your Yarn Advent Calendar.  This year we thought we might free you from the fade and direct you toward:
  • Stripes

  • Colour Blocks

  • Intarsia

  • Colourwork

  • Pieced projects

  • Small objects

  • Applique

No fading necessary! And the main skein colour serves as the perfect backdrop to make the set sing (this will be available to order on its own in January if you need more).

We enjoy using Ravelry, specifically the advanced search filters on the pattern page, to look for projects.  For example, we can use the Colorwork filter and select stripes:

You can further filter the results by selecting your yarn weight (4ply=fingering, 8ply=DK). Under the colorwork filter you'll also find This same searching technique works for knit or crochet as you can add that filter.

If you're looking to make small objects like toys, gnomes, Christmas baubles, or even a comfort chicken - use the yardage or meterage filter to find them. For pieced projects like blocks - look in the Components folder for the Afghan Blocks filter:

So have fun choosing a project or two! and please tag us in your social media so we can appreciate your amazing work!
