Mix It With Mint
skill level: beginner to experienced
In this workshop we get to play with colour, texture, and gauge. We'll have piles of different yarns in all the colours as well as bountiful balls of fluffy Mint. We'll play colour theory, working with and mixing tonals, hand painted, and speckled yarns.
Then we will start experimenting by knitting or crocheting swatches holding Mint double with other yarns. Let the fun begin!
By the end of the class you'll have a good understanding of how colours interact when yarns are held double, and what it's like to work with some of the more expressive speckled and hand painted yarns.
Class includes:
All the yarn you'll need to knit or crochet five to six swatches.
Two hours guided making + optional three hours social making.
Juice, teas, and nibbles.
What you need to bring:
Needles or hooks for different gauges, small scissors, a notebook & pencil or a device you can use to take notes.
If wearing a mask benefits you - we absolutely welcome that :)
We try our best to make our photos as accurate as possible but every screen displays colour slightly differently, so we cannot guarantee complete accuracy. Hand-dyed yarns vary from one batch to the next so there will always be some variation between the photo and each individual skein.
Part of the hand dyed allure is each skein's individuality. This gives final objects depth and nuance. With this in mind we recommend alternating skeins (every other row in flat knitting and every row in circular knitting) on larger projects creating a more cohesive blend.
