Learn Knitting Series

Adult, Teen, & Kid sessions

For adults we will do a 4 part series of increasingly challenging projects, starting with a cowl, then a hat, and finally onto a top down knit in the round sweater (2 sessions). Join in for the whole series or whichever class suits your skill level and interest.

For teens (ages 12+) we have a 4 part series and start with a chunky scarf then move onto a beanie, and then a simple top down vest (2 sessions).

For kids ages 8 to 12 we have a 4 part series and start with a really fun class: Tree Sweaters! Kids can choose a tree in the neighbourhood or front yard or Nanna's front yard - and we will knit a rectangular scrap wrap to keep that part of tree cozy! (2 sessions) and then move onto a beanie (2 sessions).

Mix It Up with Mint

craft: this is a Knit or Crochet class

skill level: beginner to experienced

In this class we get to play with colour (texture & gauge also come in to play). We'll have piles of different yarns in all the colours as well as bountiful balls of fluffy Mint.  I'll talk about colour theory, working with and mixing tonals, hand painted, and speckled yarns. I'll have images and samples to illustrate some of the lessons.

Then we will start experimenting by knitting or crocheting swatches holding Mint double with other yarns. Let the fun begin.

By the end of the class you'll have a good understanding of how colours interact when yarns are held double, and what it's like to work with some of the more expressive speckled and hand painted yarns.

Class includes:

All the yarn you'll need to make five to six 10x10cm swatches.

Juices, teas, and nibbles.

What you need to bring:

Needles or hooks for different gauges, small scissors, a notebook & pencil or a device you can use to take notes.
